We Can All Get Along

Hi farm friends, hope this 2012 is being kind to you all! Just wanted to pop in and say hello and to share a precious video of our kunekune pig, Porter and his best buddy, Cola, a miniature Mediterranean donkey.  If the whole world could get along this well, what a wonderful world it could be.

We also wanted to introduce you to Scout, our newest addition at Verde Farm. Scout is a Great Pyrenees female puppy. She is sweet, beautiful and smart as a whip. Her big brother, Shep, is teaching her all she needs to know to protect this small farmstead.

Wishing you all a warm winter and wonderful year ahead!

Wasn't able to see scout, but it's great that you have Pyrenees dogs. I've heard good things about them.

Bev, your farm is truly amazing, everyone and everything is so well cared for. I adore old log cabins with "chinking" I have been longing to have one here, but they are very rarely seen in Maine let alone New England. I love Miss Ginger and Maryann, I can tell they are natural "hams" when in front of a camera! I had just left Amy's blog before visiting with you and recalled that your girls came from Verde Farm. Someday I hope to visit Amy and Richie and would love to meet you too! Sending New Year greetings from Maine, Julie.

Oh my! Scout looks like ours did 12 months ago. Go check out my last post and see what she looks like now! Not very small and cuddly anymore.

Thank you for that! What a wonderful way to start my morning. Those are two types of animals I'd love to have, but don't have the room, so thanks for sharing yours.

Amy, It's great to see everybody is happy and cozy at Verde Farm. Honestly, those two look as friendly as kittens snuggled together! I think Pansy looked a little jealous? Your new puppy is adorable, what fun she will have learning from Shep! I would so love to get another golden retriever puppy (Ahhhh!these photos are tearing at my resistance!)

what a sweet little couple. I never had a hankering for a pig as a pet but between you and Moon over Martinborough, I am starting to come around. Love the little donkey. You have the best pets! Hope life is good and all is happy at Verde Farm, from your pal in a very cold crab meadow.

I die. Too much cuteness. Now I'm really kicking myself for not buying a sweet mini donkey at our local auction this weekend. But pigs scare me. I see them often at horse farms but... Old timer stories of hogs eating farm folk scarred me for life. Maybe all your sweet n happy critters will change my mind!
Wishing you a happy and harmonious 2012!
hugs,
Leslie

Dear Amy, It's so nice to see a post from you and get caught up on what's going on at Verde Farm. Scout is adorable and I know she will learn fast and be a great protector once she grows up. Donkeys and pigs are both intelligent critters, we could learn about getting along from them. So cute. Stay well.

Scout is a beauty. I wish I could add such a dog to our place, maybe the coyotes would not have taken a lamb from us. I hope Scout is all and more than you hoped for. ( Scout, listen up, learn your lessons well, your flock depends on you )

Your animals are beautiful. Here in OH it is raining and the rivers are rising. Since you are just across the river from us you are probably having this same flower delima. Our dafidilli think it is spring and will bloom any day now. Crazy. I posted some new knitted gifts on my blog. My friends are going through chemo or radiation and a warm scarf or hat is just the most welcome gift. Hope to visit your Verde Farm this spring. Jan

I was just thinking how much I miss Verde Farm and wandered back to this lovely video clip to just confirm it! Verde Farm is my favorite place to visit on the web! Gads how cute is that little donkey and piggie?

I hope you are all well and life is happy and healthy down south at Verde. Things are getting green up here in Crab Meadow so I am sure it is by you as well.

Best, Ginny
